“Candle” is an exercise for some individuals only. It is NOT for everyone!
"Candle" is an inverted pose - it is a stand emphasizing the shoulder girdle, cervical region, head, and elbows. The legs are pointing upwards.
It can safely be called a healing and anti-aging remedy (Practicing it with measure, attentiveness, and proper performance technique!).
The exercise has been taken from traditional yoga "Salamba Sarvangasana." In ancient India, there was a belief that a person standing on his feet - is aging and staying in "Sarvangasana" - becomes younger.
It is absolutely obvious when a person is in an inverted position; the enormous load is removed from the circulatory system. Blood vessels of the legs get rest; blood rushes to the abdominal organs and the upper part of the body - the brain and thyroid gland are abundantly washed with fresh blood, which brings nutrients. The very same blood is saturated with oxygen, updated all the cells and tissues of the body. Of course, this affects the work of the hormonal system and all organs.

✔️ Improves blood circulation, improves blood supply to the brain, and saturates the body with oxygen. Thankfully to the exercise, there are painful headaches migraines because often the pain is due to overstressed muscles of the back of the neck because of the spasm, constricting the nerve endings. The exercise, muscle spasms in the cervical region (as the back surface of the neck stretches), vascular spasms in the brain, thereby increasing blood flow through the vertebral artery to the occipital region, which improves the blood supply to the brain, strengthens the blood vessels, stimulate the functioning of all centers of visceral regulation of the brain stem structures.

The technique of exercise "Candle"
Exercise is best done with the support on the wall (as a safety net).
Starting position - lying on your back (on the floor), legs straight, and arms along the body.
Tighten the press, raise the legs at a 90 ° angle, then increase the pelvis and lower back.
Nape, neck, shoulders, elbows pressed to the floor. Raise your legs higher by lifting your hips and back, leading them to a right angle with the body, point the socks up. Pushing yourself up, raise your torso perpendicular to the floor. Supporting the back with palms; with hands. The chest should touch the chin. Breathe calmly and stay in this position as detailed below. Make sure your body weight is on the shoulders and neck. But at the same time, you should feel comfortable and light. Perform the exercise only until discomfort appears.
Slowly return to the starting position. Be sure to follow the execution technique.
Note! Control the position of the elbows. Do not set them wider than shoulders, and do not turn your head. When you raise the lower part of your body to the top, make sure that the upper part of the chest touches your chin. At the same time, the larynx should not be squeezed.
The benefits and harms of this exercise depending on your sense of proportion and technique.
Exercise requires some flexibility in the muscles and mobility in the joints. It is advisable to prepare yourself with warming-up exercises and joint gymnastics.
This exercise should start with 1-2 minutes, gradually increasing the exercise time to 8 minutes (increasing 30 seconds a day).
Exercise is best done on an empty stomach in the morning or evening.
You should not perform this exercise during pregnancy or menstruation.
If you have a previous history of spinal injuries and injuries of the cervical vertebrae, intervertebral disc displacement;
With an inguinal hernia;
With severe heart disease, high blood pressure, hypertension, atherosclerosis;
In diseases of the thyroid gland / hyperfunction of the thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism);
In diseases of the retina and glaucoma;
The first results will be visible after 2-3 months (but we must consider that everyone has a different body and lifestyle). But you will notice significant changes after 1 year.
It should also be remembered that the contrast shower is one of the components for the rejuvenation of the body. By itself alone will not give the desired result.
